The University of Jammu accredited as 'A' grade University by National Assessment & Accreditation Council of India. University of Jammu commence examinations, grants degrees, generates vast knowledge and confers diverse academic distinctions on persons who pursue approved courses of study through this University or in constituent colleges/institutions approved for the purpose also for those who appear as external/private candidates. The University also admits, maintains, recognizes, and affiliates colleges and other institutions. B.ED from Jammu University has exhumation from NCTE Act. Person who is doing B.ED from Jammu University will not be governed by the provision of the NCTE Act. Candidate who is pursuing their B.ED from Jammu University can apply for Central as well as State Govt. job.
Admission to the B.Ed. course in the Non-Government Colleges of Education shall be open to those candidates who have passed Bachelor's Degree Examination in the faculties of Arts, Science, Social Sciences, Commerce and Management (under 10+2+3 or 10+2+2/10+1+3 pattern), Engineering, Medicine, Agric. Veterinary Science, Forestry, Music and Fine Arts from the University of Jammu or any other university with 45% statutory University in India registered with the Association of Indian Universities and have secured at least 45% of the aggregate marks in the qualifying examination in case of general category are eligible for application.
For SC/ST Other Backward classes (O.B.C.)/ Area Adjoining Actual Line of Control (A.L.C.) /Resident of Backward Area (R.B.A.)/Disabled candidates, the eligibility will be 40% in the qualifying examination. (The principle of rounding of 1/2 marks and above into one whole mark shall also be applicable, meaning thereby that a candidate having secured 44.50%, in case of General Category AND 39.50% in case of Reserved category.
Procedure and Mode of Selection:-
Those belonging to reserved categories shall be prepared separately based on merit i.e. percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
Following Procedure Is Used For Preparation Of Merit List:-
1) Candidate senior in age will be given first preference.
2) If tie still persists, then marks obtained in 12th will be considered.
3) If tie still persists, then marks obtained in 10th will be considered.
Seats are divided in following pattern:-
50% of the total seats in each college shall be reserved for group- 1 i.e Science & Arts with Maths group candidates. Other 50% seats shall be reserved for group-2 i.e. Arts & Commerce Group Candidates.

3) Choice Filling Of College
4) Getting Allotment letter
5) Depositing Fee By Bank Challan In Bank
6) Depositing Original Along With 3 Sets Of Xerox Documents In College
7) Commencement of Classes
Before submitting online form candidate very cautiously read all the details mentioned. Therefore, the candidate must know all the documents that are to be enclosed for admission process. Candidate can fill online form by visiting concerned site. Once the online form is filled candidate should submit the form before notified period else form shall not entertained. After filling form with required details, a control number and password will get generate. Information about only those candidates, whose admission status has seen reported online, will be forwarded to Registration Branch of the University. Admission of candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from other university shall be provisional subject to verification of the eligibility by the Registration Branch of the university concerned. Once the student will get their control number and password, they will get a registration number through which they need to pay by challan in bank for counseling. Another step is to select college; for that choice of different college is given to the student from, which student can select number of colleges. Colleges are allotted on the base of merit (marks).Once the candidate got their registration number they need to pay university mentioned fees through demand draft/challan. Then the final procedure will be commencement of classes. This is how students educate themselves by enrolling in this university to become a great teacher.
